
Kyndal Sowers – President
Kyndal is serving her first term as president. In this role, she manages all of the executive committees, is the primary liaison with outside groups and organizations, and serves on the Franklin County Democratic Party’s Executive Committee.
She works as the Finance Director for the Friends for Ginther campaign committee and the Franklin County Democratic Party. She is a proud graduate of The Ohio State University. Email Kyndal at sowerskyndal@gmail.com.

Spencer Dirrig – Vice President
A native Ohioan and second-generation American, Spencer Dirrig was born and raised in Delaware County, just north of Columbus. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in Economics in 2019. An experienced political organizer, Spencer founded Breakthrough Advising LLC in 2019 and managed numerous campaigns throughout Central Ohio on the local, state, and federal level. Spencer serves as the 3rd Vice President of the Young Democrats of America, President of Workers United Local 2843, and a Member of the Board of Directors for the Legacy Fund of The Columbus Foundation. Outside of politics, Spencer is a USSF Soccer Referee and enjoys hiking with his recue dog, Saoirse.

Jacob Dilley – Treasurer
As Treasurer, Jacob manages FCYD’s finances and ensures that all the group’s political activity is conducted according to Ohio Law. He is also the chair of the FCYD Finance Committee and the organization’s chief fundraiser.
Jacob Dilley is a Columbus native with a passion for progressive activism and a career in local government. A graduate of Miami University, Jacob began working in the Absentee Department at the Franklin County Board of Elections, learning the complicated intricacies of our democracy in action. He currently works as a Legislative Analyst for Columbus City Council, overseeing legislation processing and council meeting agendas. He’s an avid Blue Jackets fan and enjoys traveling with his girlfriend, hiking with his dog, and trying all the craft beers and coffee shops in town.

Brandon Simmons – Secretary
As Secretary, Brandon is in charge of noting all important FCYD business, such as keeping the minutes of general and executive meetings and managing the group’s archives.
Brandon is a proud resident of the Hilltop, and is a proud graduate of Columbus Alternative High School, where he led a coalition of students, parents, and teachers that advocated for 4.5 million for building improvements. He is currently running for a seat on the Columbus School Board.

Andie McDonald- Communications Director
As Communications Director, Andie manages FCYD’s public relations, including emails, social media, event marketing, and the FCYD website. Andie also chairs the Communications Committee which works to publicize FCYD events and endorsed candidates.
Andie is the Legislative Assistant to Columbus City Council President Pro Tempore Rob Dorans. She was a 2021 Legislative Fellow for the Legislative Service Commission, working in the Ohio Senate. Additionally, Andie has spent time working for the Marion Regional Planning Commission, and the Ohio Senate Democratic Campaign Caucus. She graduated from the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at the Ohio State University with a degree in Public Management, Leadership, and Policy. Originally from Marion, Ohio, she now lives in Columbus with her partner and their cats, Cowboy and Tuca. In her spare time, Andie likes antiquing and going to concerts.

Membership Committee Vice Chair
The primary responsibility of the Vice-Chair of the Membership Committee is to assist the Chairman of this committee. The committee is charged with growing Franklin County Young Democrats membership.
Finance Committee Vice Chair
The primary responsibility of the Vice-Chair of the Finance Committee is to assist the Chair of this committee. The committee is the main fundraiser arm of FCYD and works with the Screening Committee to establish political donations to young & local candidates.
Communications Committee Vice Chair
The primary responsibility of the Vice-Chair of the Communications Committee is to assist the Chairman of this committee. The committee works to publicize FCYD events and endorse candidates, as well as engage members on all social media platforms.
