March Meeting Recap

Thank you all for coming to our latest FCYD meeting! For those of you that could not make it, here’s a summary of what we discussed.

New Member Recruitment: Phone “Party” on 3/26

The Recruitment Committee is planning big things! We’re going to be reaching out to active young democrats who are not FCYD members and invite them to our upcoming fundraiser/membership drive.  Our first phone “party” will take place on Tuesday, March 26th at 6pm at ODP. We’ll have FREE PIZZA and BEER for anyone who comes and makes some calls.  If you’re planning on attending, please send me an email (housejr@gmail.com).

Mark your calendars FCYD PAC Kickoff Event

Mark your calendars for our first fundraiser of the year.  It will take place on April 24, from 5:30-7:30pm at the Short North Tavern. Free beer and appetizers will be provided. The event will cost $20 and will cover your dues for the next 12 months.  We’re also going to have a DUES SPECIAL at the event that you’ll want to take advantage of:  if you are under 35, you and a friend can attend the event AND each receive a year-long FCYD membership for the price of one attendee (aka BOGO!!)

Ohio Young Democrats Meeting THIS SATURDAY

March 16th the Ohio Young Democrats have a meeting that starts at 11am at ODP. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about other chapters and meet young democrats from all over the state.   We’ll also have free food provided by ODP!  I’ve copied the agenda below

  • 11:00: Registration
  • 11:15: Status of Organization Update
  • 11:30: Chartering Explanation
  • 12:00: Lunch and Right to Work Training
  • 1:30: Brainstorming Sessions
  • 2:30: Announcements and Closing

Communications Committee Update

The Communications Committee is looking for additional contributors for the FCYD Website. It’s a great opportunity for anyone looking to write/develop content and the website is going to be a great place to help highlight the issues that are important to young people in central Ohio.  If you’re interested in contributing content, shoot us an email.

Other Events

Innovation Ohio is celebrating their second birthday!  Their birthday party will take place on Thursday, April 4th, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Due Amici Restaurant (67 East Gay Street).  They are offering a special young professionals rate of just $25.  It should be a great time!
